Let me tell you about my mucus...

After avoiding it for some time, I've finally gotten around to thumbing through some of the pregnancy books that the gaybors gave me.

Why did I avoid it? Well, have you seen these books? Totally overwhelming!

Of particular interest right now is Taking Charge of Your Fertility, by Toni Weschler. Once I got over the initial unease ("You do what? Where?"), I was able to find my comfort level. In no time at all I will be more aquainted with my cycle and my body than I ever expected to be. And I've decide that this is a book that Sophie will be well aquainted with as she gets older. I don't want her going into womanhood completely in the dark about such things.

Now, I consider myself a pretty enlightened woman. More self-aware than most, I suppose. But I just didn't realize how precise everything had to be. Clearly, I'm entering a new reality here. Up until now, I've been blissfully ignorant (or just horribly under-educated) about certain things relating to my reproductive health, but that is about to change.
